Within professional programmes we as athletes are often provided with great resources such as physios, doctors, massage, nutritionists and mental skills. However, I have noticed a real lack of financial support. We are not often educated and supported enough around purchasing property, investing, minimising risks, tax (especially for athletes on independent contractor agreements) and legal support when we’re purchasing property or planning for our future.
